About the Role:
This is a volunteer (unpaid) role supporting the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign in Houston, MS. As a Team Member, you will assist in installing smoke alarms and educating residents on home fire safety through home visits, safety checklists, and emergency escape planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support smoke alarm installation efforts

• Educate residents on home fire prevention and safety practices

• Provide home fire safety checklists and help create family escape plans

• Participate in community outreach and preparedness activities

• Work collaboratively with Red Cross staff, volunteers, and community partners

• Complete necessary volunteer training

Requirements:

• Passion for helping others and improving community safety

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Willingness to participate in outreach and educational tasks

• Ability to follow safety protocols during in-person activities

• Flexibility to volunteer virtually or on-site (as local conditions require)
